Being able to lie down either on their back or side is the best position to meditate for some people. In this form it has been suggested, a person can concentrate on each muscle group and allow for the entire body to relax, reaching the point where meditation and relaxation meet has one.
A person can get to a point where they are in a deep meditative zone by concentrating on their breathing. Concentrate on slowly breathing whilst being in a comfortable postion. Again, this may mean sitting in a comfortable chair, lying down or lying on your bed. Make sure that you are physically comfortable in order to obtain a beneficial and deep meditation.
To free the mind and body of all of its stresses you need to concentrate on relaxing the body physically. By first learning how to relax the body, a person can then journey to their inner self and work on releasing all of the worries and thoughts that build up in the mind. Meditative state when you are in it, very strongly in your head imagine that your body’s white cells are battling mucus-green blobs. You don’t have to use that exact imagery, but that’s what I do. You might see your body’s immune system as a white light, or as little knights in shining armor ready to go forth in battle against invading bacteria. Have fun with it. Be good to you it’s your time.
How successful is it?
Results vary with healing meditation techniques among every individual. It seems to help some people better than others. When I say “work”, I mean helping to not only lessen pain, but help make the patient more relaxed and hopeful. Your teacher will sometimes appear out of the blue in spiritual meditation. In spiritual meditation your teacher doesn’t have to be a famous guru or even someone that’s you’ve ever met. Your teacher might not even be human. It will probably be in hindsight when you realize who your teacher in spiritual meditation was.
Since I was sixteen years old my teacher in spiritual meditation is a man who has visited me in my dreams. Peter Gabriel is his name, which is also the name of a revered personal here of mine and one of my favorite singers. He has helped to push me to situations, books and even animals to watch in order to help with many aspects of my life, including my spiritual meditation practices.
Ways of Meditating to nourish their spirits will be different for everybody. I do many things. Some people count a rosary,chant mantras, some people imagine a religious icon in every precise detail. And some people even have imaginary but powerful conversations with spiritual teachers when they are in a meditative state.
You will know when you have found your teacher when you know. That’s a vague answer, but it’s the best I can give. Until then, keep asking questions, searching and dreaming.
